Fall is finally here in Independence County! Make the most of the season with scenic trails, afternoons on the water, and weekends filled with local flavor. Whether you’re planning an outdoor adventure or a relaxed day downtown, there’s plenty to fall in love with right here.


The GREENWAY TRAIL is a go-to for walkers, runners, and cyclists. LYON COLLEGE has bluff-side hiking and biking trails, disc golf, ropes courses, and more. Gravel riders can explore endless miles of backroads, while GREASY BEND OFF-ROAD PARK offers mud, bluffs, and incredible views of the White River. At JAMESTOWN CRAG, visitors can discover more than 100 climbing routes, miles of trails, campsites, and beautiful sunsets.


Take in the season from the water with a float, paddle, or fishing trip on POKE BAYOU and the WHITE RIVER. Stop by POKE BAYOU OUTFITTERS for the gear and info you need for an adventure-filled day.


Looking for something closer to town? Follow the SWEET TREAT TRAIL, build a personalized itinerary with the EXPERIENCE BUILDER App, shop along Main Street, or enjoy live music and community events. Explore local history at the OLD INDEPENDENCE REGIONAL MUSEUM, catch a movie at the historic MELBA THEATER, or discover classes and programs offered by the BATESVILLE AREA ARTS COUNCIL and the INDEPENDENCE COUNTY LIBRARY.
