Cave City Watermelon Festival

Held each July in Cave City’s City Park, this longtime festival has been celebrating the “World’s Sweetest Watermelons” since 1980 and has grown into one of the region’s biggest annual events.

On Friday, July 24, festivalgoers are invited to ride this free vintage trolley experience, making it easy to shop, dine, and discover local businesses without moving their vehicle.
Visitors can park once and enjoy convenient transportation to boutiques, restaurants, antique stores, specialty shops, watermelon stands, Window Wars displays, and other local stops throughout Cave City.
The Cave City Area Chamber of Commerce will also debut its new Cave City Visitor Map during the festival. This full-color guide highlights shopping, dining, attractions, lodging, parks, historic sites, and other points of interest throughout the community. Complimentary maps will be available during the festival and at participating locations year-round.
The Sweetest Shuttle operates Friday, July 24, during the Cave City Watermelon Festival and is free thanks to Bank of Cave City and First Community Bank.
