Planet Smoothie celebrates Ribbon Cutting
Planet Smoothie serves delicious smoothies made with real fruit and other high-quality ingredients. In addition to real fresh fruit smoothies, their menu includes smoothie bowls, power shots, healthy snacks, and more. Planet Smoothie’s mission is to make every day better by serving great-tasting products as a celebration of health and happiness in a fun and unique atmosphere.
After 27 years in healthcare, including the first two years of Covid, Shane Wood was ready for a change. He wanted to be surrounded by healthy people. His journey to opening a Planet Smoothie in Batesville was long for him and his family, but the pieces fell together perfectly, between a space being available in Midtown Plaza and a smoothie restaurant being on the BACC’s health initiative wish list.
Wood explained why he chose Planet Smoothie out of all the smoothie franchises. “Everything that we have is real. We have nothing other than our vanilla that is artificial. We have real fruit. Real vegetables. We peel about 300 pounds of bananas a week, and they get tired of peeling bananas,” he joked.
Wood’s Planet Smoothie set a record for opening day amongst Planet Smoothies region-wide. “Batesville, Arkansas showed up and showed out,” said Wood. Since opening day, Planet Smoothie has seen around 19 thousand transactions. “We’ve been busy, we’ve been blessed, and I thank everyone for that,” he said.
Wood thanked several people for their help in his journey to open Planet Smoothie, but first and foremost he wanted to “Thank my Lord and Savior for making this possible because with Him everything is possible.” In honor and celebration of Planet Smoothie’s opening and continued success, Wood invited his pastor up to say a prayer. “Thank you for the opportunity for Shane and his family to make an impact on our community. As they continue to meet the needs of people through healthy choices and investment in the community, we pray You continue to bless them,” the pastor prayed in conclusion.
